Courteous Dog Owners
As a non-dog owner who has many friends with dogs, I have come to appreciate small acts of courtesy. For example, I really appreciate it when my friends clean up after their dogs after they have been in my yard, supply their own dog dishes, and bring toys along for their dogs to play with so they don’t wreck my things. I also really like it when visiting friends bring something for their dog to sleep on. I also appreciate any efforts to protect my car upholstery, whether that means supplying an old blanket for the backseat, or transferring the dog car seat covers from their car to mine. A lot of dog hair is very hard to clean out, even with the brush attachment of a vacuum cleaner. I do like dogs and may consider one for myself somewhere down the line, but for now I realize that I don’t have the time to give a dog all the love and attention it deserves. While I know that many of my friends love their dogs as though they were children, I really appreciate those who respect my choice to have a hair-free lifestyle.
